San Diego: Day One
Well, we finally made it. Yesterday felt like the longest day of my life! Wednesday night we didn't end up leaving home until 9 pm, and got to Seattle at around midnight. We slept in the van in some sketchy parking lot near the Park N' Fly. I got very little sleep. We woke up at 3 am and sort of got organized. I felt like death. Once we parked our car at the Park N' Fly, we took the shuttle to the airport. Our plane left at 6:15 am and we got to San Fransisco at 8:30 am. Second plane got us to San Diego at 1 pm (flight was very delayed). We took a shuttle to the car rental place. Guess what? They wouldn't let us rent our car because they didn't accept a prepaid mastercard or cash. So they took us to a different rental place where they wanted us to pay 50 bucks a day for an old beater car. So we said no, and took a cab to the hotel. When we got there, we found out that the pool is closed until the 25th, the day before we fly out. Just fantastic. When we reserved our room we kept saying "we would like a room by the pool". I guess they forgot to mention that the pool is closed for repairs. Now, I'm not trying to complain, but a pool is quite important to us when we're on holidays! So my mum talked to the manager and they said they could transfer us to a different hotel with a pool. Which kind of sucks only because the one we wanted is actually so nice other than the no pool situation! It's like a little mexican retreat. But what can you do. So we're packing up and heading to the other hotel soon. I hope it's nice! Oh, and last night we went out for Mexican food. It was deeeelish. And we walked to the beach, the waves were HUGE!! Then we went to the 7 eleven and I bought a mini tub of cookie dough ice cream. :)
