This trip to Mayne Island was just what we needed. We have barely hung out the four of us all summer. We had dance parties in the cottage, drank wine, laughed our heads off, relaxed in the sun, swam, canoed, watched sex and the city, met cute boys, and went skinny dipping!!! I can't believe how eventful 3 days was. I also had no idea how unbelievable an experience it would be to skinny dip. Me and Flora have been wanting to do that for a while, but I didn't realize it would be quite so amazing. We snuck down to the beach at about 10:30 (we were aiming for midnight but got too tired), and as we were all standing there in our bathing suits I got the burst of adrenaline, or courage or something that I needed, and before I knew it I was charging into the water full speed wearing my birthday suit and loving life. It was the most freeing moment I have ever had. We swam and floated and looked up at the stars. As we were about to swim to shore, I looked out at the horizon and saw a shooting star. It fell suddenly but long enough for all four of us to see it! I am so proud of us for accomplishing one of the things on our list, not only did it bring us closer together, but it made me feel more comfortable in my own skin. It made me realize that I am my own person, flaws and all, and I am perfect just the way I am. I have accepted that we all have flaws, but they are what give us character, personality, beauty, and even quirkiness. Skinny dipping on Mayne Island has become our new tradition, and I can't wait for next year!
The four of us were meant to be best friends. It is easy to tell, I have never felt more comfortable around three friends, and have never felt more in sync. While other friends come and go, decide out of the blue to hate me, or bitch about me, or hurt me, I know I will always have you guys by my side! LOVE YOU! :)
