Mia and I (and Mia's family) ventured off to Shuswap for 5 days in July. We stayed in their fabulous trailer at a campground and basically just had a rockin time. Not too sure why I said rockin. It was great!! The weather was a little iffy and it pretty much rained at least once a day, but I really didn't mind. We spent the entire time riding our bikes EVERYwhere and got so much exercise that I ended up eating a ton of food. So now Mia's whole family thinks I'm the fattest kid ever! And also there was an amazing ice cream store there, so I ate ice cream once a day, sometimes twice!
Anyways, once Mia and I got it in our heads, we couldn't stop BHing. For those of you who don't know, this requires a lot of skill (which we lack), and a lot of confidence (which we also lack). So I guess the logical conclusion would be that we failed miserably. But luckily on the last night we succeeded!! Sort of. Well we met two guys, and one of them was really cute! We played grounders on the playground like the cool kids that we are. But then we got talking and turns out they are 2 years younger than us. As in, the same age as Mia's brother. Awesome. But they were also extremely mature for their age, and so smart that I started to feel really stupid around them. They started talking about quantum physics, and naming all the constellations, and Mia and I just sat there feeling kind of foolish for knowing nothing about what they were talking about. But the four of us sat on a bench by the lake at midnight and looked at the stars. It was beautiful, and I completely forgot about the age difference. So maybe it was not what we had hoped for, but it was better than nothing!
The whole trip was actually so much fun, thank you Mia for inviting me!!! :)
