Orientation

So I had my university orientation yesterday, at Capilano. I was so nervous! It went okay. I was scared I wouldn't meet anybody, but I met a girl named Andi who is from Iran. She is super nice, and it was interesting to meet somebody from a different country. She moved here a year ago and is living on her own in west van. Her english is so good but she kept apologizing! She said she loves it in Canada because it is so free, she can be whoever she wants to be. It is so different from Iran, where the government is so strict. The mere size of our world overwhelms me sometimes, to think that she came from a place so far away: not only physically but politically/socially/whatever else. Far away in the sense that it is so different from Canada. I really hope I can keep in touch with her. I also got my books, CapCard, U-pass, and planner. I have my first class tomorrow, Philosophy from 2:30-5:20. So. Ridiculously. Long! How I will sit still for almost 3 hours straight, I have absolutely no clue. I am scared but also excited. I really hope it goes well.
