So you think you can, WRITE!

I am way too excited for my creative writing class! I posted my assignment (two poems) on the Moodle website and got a few people's opinions/critiques on them. I am sitting here grinning, not because all the responses were great, but just because I am finally in a class that is meant for me. I am thrilled to be able to hear criticism that is ACTUALLY constructive for once in my life, and from a group of people who are trying to help me improve my writing. They write useful comments that force me to see my work from a reader's perspective instead of just the writer's perspective. I also like that some of it is online, which means when I comment on other people's work I will be able to formulate a better response than simply saying "I liked the imagery" or something lame like that. Also, reading other people's writing (makes me jealous) INSPIRES me to write write write, edit, write! If I ever want to be a writer, the only way I can make it happen is by writing (no duh), but not just every now and again, every day, and by having other people read it (for once) and letting other people critique it (without assuming my writing is bad) and edit it (without rejecting their criticism). Now I am ready! I AM READY TO WRITE!!!
