I MISS BLOGGING!

I have been so ridiculously insanely busy the past 7 days! Silly me decided to take on another article for the Capilano Courier during the same week that we are finishing moving to Coquitlam. Yeah, that wasn't smart, but for those of you who know me, you know I love being busy! Even when I complain about it! So  on Monday I had school, Tuesday I had the newspaper meeting in which I chose the to write a special features article about the arts community in Vancouver, and about artists losing their studio spaces because people like Gregor Robertson and Heather Deal are unable to get their shit together (excuse my french). A.K.A the article topic of doom that has caused me to be a big ball of stress all week long. So. Wednesday I trekked off to Vancouver only to drive aimlessly from studio, to gallery, to restaurant, to art cafe. Turns out that yes, in fact my editor is right, studio space and galleries ARE shutting down in Vancouver. So much so that I was unable to go to any of them since they were, yeah you guessed it, shut down! Which means that on Wednesday I learned nothing except that this funny arts consultator I talked to thinks I have "an unusually curious mind, which is a good thing for a writer/journalist". So that was interesting but not exactly the opinion I was looking for. But I did talk to a super nice waitress in the Whip Restaurant and Gallery who took the time to sit down and chat with me despite the fact that she was the only one on floor and running off every two seconds calling "hold that thought!" over her shoulder. But it always gives me a burst of enthusiasm when people are nice to me, especially since I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to this whole journalist thing. On Thursday I had school once again, and of course had not finished any of my philosophy homework because I was too busy trying to get artists to talk to me, something that isn't usually on my daily to-do list. Friday was slightly more successful, although I did not go into Vancouver like I had intended, I had two phone interviews which both went extremely well and gave me a lot of information that I needed. I also started emailing pretty much anyone and everyone who is involved with either the arts, activism, politics, anything to do with the juice man (gregor robertson), and pretty much just a whole wack of people because I was getting desperate and needed answers to my questions! After a few replies, I set up a meeting with Ehren Salazar, owner of the Little Mountain Gallery on Main Street. Saturday I headed off to Vancouver again, had another excellent interview, went home and checked my email, had more replies, realized I was overwhelmed by all the information I had, and I think I went to bed but I forget. Well obviously I did at some point, but I can't even remember what happened on Saturday night because to be honest this week has been a blur. Oh that's right, I ate some delicious pizza in Vancouver and got home late. Sunday was the day my article was due so obviously this involved some mild to moderate panic on my part and I began to write, and write, and write, and write and it was never ending and eventually I had 2238 words. So then I sent it in, and now I am working the second draft and I am exhausted and oh how I would love to go to sleep! THE END.
